Will is Africa’s leading biomimicry local naturalist and serves as a trainer for biomimicrySA. Will until recently has been running the safari department in Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve where he has been guiding since 2006 and now he operates as a nature guide instructor for Ecotraining. His passion for the marine environment is just as strong, with regular excursion to coastal areas to dive, sail and explore. Will hosted Biomimicry founder Janine Benyus during her visit to Sabi Sabi in 2009, and has since been trained to serve as a Biologist at the Design Table and Biomimicry trainer. He is developing a specialist qualification for nature guides in Southern Africa through FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa) to add to guides personal impact on conservation and the lessons that can be learned from the natural genius.
Yorkshireman Will Lawson explores the fascinating field of biomimicry as a tool to drive objectivity in conservation, stimulate localised innovation and fulfil his personal ambition to blur the boundaries we have constructed between mother nature and human nature.
